Lazy Summer Days.

It was a sweltering 89 degrees with 47% humidity today in NYC. I bought something at the MOMA design store a few weeks ago, and got a free museum admission with my purchase, so I decided to escape the heat and head uptown for a wonderful day at the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA). I didn't have too, too much time to spend in the museum, but I definitely got the highlights.
Afterward, I met Madeline at Stuffed Artisan Cannoli on the LES. They have so many flavors! I had peanut butter cup, girl scout cookie and key lime pie—I didn't think I'd like key lime pie, but all three were amazing! They have around 75 flavors, and many of them (like key lime pie) are seasonal. I can't wait to go back in the fall and get a pumpkin cannoli!
(note: I forgot my camera, so the pics are from my phone. booo)

Summer 2010.

Ah, I have finally settled into my new home for the summer, Broome St Residence Hall! I'm in a studio apartment, but I don't have a roommate yet—so it's all mine! I'm really digging the location (border of SoHo and Little Italy and a mere two blocks from Chinatown) considering I don't really cook, and I love clothes! I really can't complain about the five minute 'commute' to work either. hehe.

Tomorrow the Costello Tagliapietra  for Uniqlo line comes out! They're a Brooklyn based design duo that are still up and coming, but this collaboration of 14 dresses (ALL priced from 29.50-39.50!) is sure to make them a household name! I'm deciding between three dresses right now:

Williamsburg thrifting adventures.

Today was my last final of freshman year! To celebrate Johnny and I went to Williamsburg to do a little thrifting at Buffalo Exchange and Beacon's Closet and we found SUCH good deals! We found Ferragamo, Kate Spade, Christian Dior, Manolo Blahnik, Yves Saint Laurant, Anna Sui, Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Valentino, Dolce & Gabbana, Frye boots, Catherine Malandrino, Prada and so much more. It was such a great afternoon and the perfect end to the year. I also found the very, very best mint green skirt from Twinkle by Wenlan—too bad it was a size zero. My heart broke a little.
Right now, I'm in the process of packing and I'm definitely going to cleanse my wardrobe. I'm thinking, maybe I should sell my clothes to either Buffalo or Beacon and get the store credit for more fabulous adventures and finds?

2010 Met Institue Costume Gala

Tonight was the Met Institute Costume Gala and the fashions did NOT disappoint. Also, was anyone else in love with the Rodarte and Thakoon for Gap collaboration?? wow.
My favorite look this evening is Anne Hathaway. Her dress is exactly what little girls' dreams are made of!
Emma Watson is always incredibly well-dressed and she wore Burberry tonight!
SJP: STUNNING. Her Halston Heritage gown is incredible.
Jennifer Lopez is also aboard the sparkly gown train—not that I'm complaining!
Mila's dress is eh, but Vera looks really good!
Emma Roberts looks very age appropriate in Marni.
Riley Keough in Thakoon for Gap (with Thakoon Panichgul)
Kirsten Dunst in Rodarte for Gap.

busy busy busy.

Today was my last day of classes, meaning, my freshman year at NYU is almost over. I can't believe the year is over—where did the second semester go?! whew. I'm terribly, terribly busy with end of year stuff including, but not limited to: EXAMS, FINAL PAPERS and MOVING OUT. Meaning, the updates will be far and few for the next week until sweet freedom (Monday, 9:51am)!!
Tonight is my last night of doing nothing for the next week and I'm loving every minute of it. It started with getting out of ACE early. Stephen desperately needed summer clothes (80 degrees, 70% humidity) and I wanted to get the Le Sac dress from American Apparel. I got the dress in pomegranate and I spent part of the afternoon playing with it—you can truly wear the dress in SO many different ways!! My favorite is a variation of the one shoulder Grecian style. I can't wait to wear it! In fact, I might wear it tomorrow....

ps. random new music obsessions of today: Across the Universe soundtrack and "Pursuit of Happyness" by Kid Cudi. weird, I'm aware.

Strawberry Festival

Today was NYU's 25th Annual Strawberry Festival. It was basically a block party in the middle of Greenwich Village with everything and anything related to strawberries. First let me say that I LOVE strawberries—they're easily my favorite fruit, and it seems as though they're hard to find in the city. But the strawberries at the Strawberry Festival were SO good! There was even the longest strawberry shortcake—it was a block long!
