FALL.

You know it's too hot when you consider 80 degrees cool, well, that's become my new standard this summer. It's been miserably humid in New York City going on two months now and I simply cannot wait until fall arrives! Falling leaves, chilly temperatures, crisp apples, pumpkins, new school supplies and fall fashion! I've just started to shop for fall/winter clothes, but I'm absolutely ecstatic about the pieces I've gotten thus far. Now all I need is a statement coat to make it my most fashionable fall yet!
blouse, belt and skirt from the fall/winter '10 collection of Uniqlo.

bag lady.

I recently saw this post on one of my favorite vintage/thrifting blogs, Cheap JAP and it gave me the confidence and inspiration for my fall bag: a tool bag. I've been looking for something like a tool bag in shape and size, but with little luck. So, I took the plunge and bought the bag! I haven't used it yet, but I'm so, so excited. I want to find a funny robot key-chain or something to make the bag more urban, and less hardware store. or a silk scarf. eh, I'll figure something out.

I'm an ordinary girl with extraordinary ambitions and hopes.

color.

I found this color test on tumblr. As an avid color fan, I was intrigued. Above is my arrangement. Now I see that I did misplace several of the shades; point being, I did not pass the test.

latest vintage find.

My latest find at the Housing Works thrift store is this amazing handbag. I decided to pop in on my way home from Union Square after a day of grocery shopping and the like. The clothing selection isn't the greatest, so I made a beeline for the baskets of handbags, when I found this beauty. First, the color is beautiful and I'm all about brown leather for summer. Second, the ostrich skin is to die for. Third, it's in amazing condition. Lastly, it's exactly the type of handbag my wardrobe is missing! I simply can't wait to show it off later this week at a rooftop bbq!

Siren festival!

Well, the temperatures in NYC and the eastern seaboard have been unbearable the past few weeks. With the extreme heat (80's, 90's, 100's, OH MY) and insufferable humidity, I don't have the energy to do much. But, I did muster the strength to venture out to Coney Island on Saturday to go to the Siren Music Festival, which is a free concert put on by The Village Voice. I'm not a huge music person, but this is the second time I've gone to the concert. I had so much fun with my friends Madeline, Gia and Stephen (who are all HUGE music people). We battled the crowds, the heat and had our fair share of Italian ices!

This year's headliner for Siren was the band 'Matt & Kim.' Sadly, Madeline, Gia and I decided that we had had our fair share of Siren by 6:30, so we didn't get to see 'Matt & Kim,' but I would have liked to!
