still busy.

I'm still quite busy, but I shall take a short break and explain why today was a decent day:
1. [finally] remembered to pick up my re-soled sandals.
2. participated so much in ace (my writing class). I was quite proud of myself!
3. had an iced-coffee. Iced-coffee makes me happy.
4. made plans with my high school friend, Kate for lunch at Katz's tomorrow.

Also, I'm definitely going to do a diy (do-it-yourself) project this summer, inspired by the Alexander Wang x Opening Ceremony tote bag. It's just a simple black canvas bag with studs, but I'm so excited because I've always wanted to stud something!
Finally, the weather forecast is rain until Wednesday morning, but after that it's high 60s-low70s all weekend! Hello spring wardrobe!!

cloest space.

Last night I decided to pack away all of my winter clothes. The results yielded SIX ENTIRE INCHES of closet space! My clothes can breathe! (totally wish I had done a before to go with this after)

MOMA

I spent a lovely, lovely afternoon with my friends Stephen, Patrick and Phillip at the MOMA! We finally got to see the Tim Burton exhibit, which was tres magnifique! His early work is truly breathtaking—who knew Tim Burton was much more than a director? The exhibit had sketches, sculptures, paintings and short films that Burton made in his childhood to cure his boredom! wow.
Today's weather was superb, so I wore the outfit I thrifted yesterday. the linley was quite pleased.

whoa.

I haven't read a magazine since october/november. This is unheard of for me. I now have a pile of 18 magazines to read. wow.
Update: got three more magazines in the mail today, which brings the total to 21. eeek.

lovely Tuesday.

Today was the first nice day after a miserable weekend of rain, rain, wind, and more rain. This afternoon was sunny and a tropical high 50's-low 60's! I decided to spend an hour or two vintage shopping in the East Village. I wasn't looking for anything in particular, so of course I found some great pieces! I found the dress at Buffalo Exchange (believe it or not, H&M, with the original tags still on!) but I really only like the skirt portion. So, I played around a bit, and this was my best result. But I don't think I'll chop it off and [permanently] make it a skirt. The beige leather clutch I picked up at Local Clothing (the owner had the greatest style, I was in awe!) and the black frame clutch I got at Fabulous Franny's, across the street! Overall, it was a fun-filled afternoon.

I'd also like this lovely number. (H&M!)

and it's made out of organic cotton!!

I NEED this dress. NOW.

liberty of london X Target.

I hadn't previously heard of Liberty of London, but when I saw pictures of the collaboration with Target, I knew it was destiny and I've been eagerly awaiting the collection for about a month now. The best part of this collaboration is that it's not just women's clothing, it's also men's, children's, and home and kitchen ware! um, outfitting my future apartment/next year's dorm with Liberty of London? I think so.

To promote the collection in Manhattan, where there is no Target store, there was a pop-up shop across the street from Bryant Park which opened this past Wednesday. I went Friday morning—it was already sold out. UPSETTING. It reads:
"Due to an overwhelming response from out guests, we have sold out at this location. We apologize for the onconvenience and encourage you to visit your local Target store or log on to Target.com?Liberty on Sunday, March 14th to purchase the collection."
So, my mumma tells me to go online at midnight Saturday night/Sunday morning, which I did about 20 minutes ago. It is now Sunday, March 14th. Why am I unable to purchase the collection?! whatever am I to do?!

[perfect] Wednesday afternoon.

I spent a lovely afternoon with Eric Ding in Washington Square park today. There was a man was playing classical music on an upright piano and I finally saw the sand man artist in action! Plus, there was a random samsung promotion? I’m not entirely sure. Also, Starbucks/Faye’s accidentally gave me a hazelnut iced coffee. strange. I wasn't too fond of it actually..... If only the weather had been 5 degrees warmer today and the sun was out. But, overall it was a peaceful afternoon full of people watching and classical music. love. (pics taken from my phone….hence the poor quality)

Don't I have the greatest friends?

spring break plans.

I have four more days of classes before a glorious week off for spring break. I had decided in the summer that for spring break I was going to stay in New York, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. Yes, only two of my close friends are staying, but I'm going to take the week to frolic in the streets of Manhattan and do everything that I've wanted and been meaning to do. This includes: museum excursions (MOMA, Cooper-Hewitt, possibly the Guggenheim), strolling in various NYC public parks (Union sq, Washington sq, the High Line, possible Central Park), and eating lovely, lovely food. Of course, this is just a tentative plan, but I do know that one thing I absolutely must do is go to target.

Why, you may ask? Well, I love target. love. And, next Sunday, March 14 the Liberty of London for Target line is released! I don't know too, too much about Liberty of London besides that they are a high end accessories label based in London. I do know, however, that I absolutely NEED this dress in my life, and if the kitchenware and home furnishings are the same girly, whimsical, floral prints, this is my room next year.
Also, this past weekend the weather was in the 50's! How heavenly! I had a rather enjoyable Saturday afternoon on the Upper West Side with my friend Rom. We actually went to the New York Historical Society for a History of Comm assignment, but it was still quite a pleasant afternoon. This week is supposed to stay in the 50's, so I shall use this week as a preview for my spring wardrobe! joy!!

Alice in Wonderland.

I saw Alice in Wonderland in 3D last night. First, you should know that I have eagerly been waiting for this movie for over a year now and I love the Disney version of Alice in Wonderland. That being said, I was pretty disappointed overall. Don't get me wrong, the visuals are breathtaking and everything they're hyped to be, but I was not a fan of the plot, the dialogue and some of the acting/character development. If you did not know, the story is of a 19 year old Alice who revisits Wonderland, now Underland. I feel like calling it Alice in Wonderland is extremely misleading if it is not a re-make, which it is not. Alice in Underland would have been much more appropriate. Or, at the very least, Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland.

I really did not like Alice's character. Her dialogue was so.....simple. It was quite frustrating actually. In one of the early scenes, she literally says, "I cannot marry you Hamish," and then runs away. It makes no sense.

Overall, I was not happy. However, it should be noted that I had a pounding head-ache after a 10 hour shift/slightly unpleasant day at Uniqlo, I was extremely hungry but I didn't want to eat because it was 12:20am and it's not particularly healthy eating at that time, I was so, so, soo tired and I really did not want to be social and see a movie. But, it was my close friend's birthday and the tickets had already been purchased. Actually, it was a pretty unpleasant night.
